Space

Space is one of the oldest physcial concepts. Jammer. it is closely related to freedom and movement. Intuitively one's space is the region in which one is free to move.
The ancients formalised the study of the structure of space in geometry. Geometry dealt with the ordinary three dimensional space of surveyors and builders. The works of Euclid contain the ancient formalisation and axiomatisation of geometry which continues to define 'Euclidean space'.
