The fundamental religious problem is failure of parallel navigation, ie formation flying.
Evil can be controlled because it is countable, that is it manifests itself at the hardware level in physical events, rape, murder, hunger etc etc. A software evil that is headed off before it initiates a hardware event is an evil avoided.
