Luther Richard Friedenthal. Friedenthal.

p 30: Heavens! What I went through before I could summon up courage to defy the laws of the Church.

MIND is SCALE INVARIANT

ie

MIND = {MIND}

We conceive of god as pure subsistent mind.

Historically, to rule means a) supreme force, sustained by
b) tax.

The core:

A prerequisite for peace is adequate error free communication,. There are two paths to high error free bandwidth, energy and subtlety. One can get bandwidth by using high frequency and high signal to noise ratio, or one can use less frequency and s/n by more error resistant coding. Higher bandwidth, more headroom, etc. How do these things relate functionally? Shannon's theorems define one bound. On the other hand there is no upper limit to the energy that may be used to transmit a bit of information.

We do not promote poverty but economy, or good economy.

Christianity is the epitome of greed. Xians demanding eternal life at the expense of everything else.

Lonergan's ignorance of quantum mechanics has created a giant lacuna in his work, in which is reflected the answer to the perennial question. What is it to be? What is god. A. This is it. Feel and you feel god, look and you see god, etc etc.

So the critical foundation is rejection of empirical residue as a self contradiction, since 'empirical' in fact requires the presence of intelligence. Intelligence is scale invariant but there is a smallest intelligence in the order of intelligences, ie that measured by the quantum of action.

He was a stranger to me. How do we measure the distance between people, between particles, between elements of the transfinite network? [The whole shape of a space can be specified by a metric]

The Catholic Church decries random mating but we all know that somewhere in the process, the experience of three billion years of evolution is in play and enormously complex issues are being discussed and negotiated, resulting in a decision whether or not to mate and consequent decisions about whether and how often to reproduce.

Friedenthal, Richard , Luther, Weidenfeld and Nicholson 1970 Jacket: At midday on 21 October 1517, Luther launched the Reformation by nailing his 'ninety-five theses' against Papal indulgences to the door of the Schlosskirche at Wittenberg. The world has yet to come to terms with the issues he raised. ... In this new biography Richard Friedenthal portrays the living human figure behind the accretions of pious and hostile legend. ... Interwoven with the story of Luther's life is an intricate picture of Europe as a whole undergoing the agony of the Reformation, with centuries old beliefs and customs being turned upside-down in a chaos of furious religious controversy, social upheaval and constant clashes between bishops and princelings, imperial troops and mercenaries. ...'back
