My perspective is gradually changing as I explore the failure of the progressive (meliorist) tendency which embraces society and sees it as the path to justice and peace and the 'I'm a right Jack, fuck you' stance of those who see the world as a lot of atoms competing for some sort of dominance, an extreme that seems to be favoured by those who have been favoured in some way in their lives, whether it is by honest or corrupt business.

How do you tell if a message is corrupt? Because it is inconsistent in some way, eg checksums do not match. Checksum - Wikipedia

The fundamental message in the human world is the salvific message that sets out how to prudently manage our ives so we live, grow and reproduce. This is passed on from generation to generation by the addition of culture to the genetic environment of our children. Culture is the glue that binds local and global networks together [mathematically, 'glue' is the transformation that maintains the communication link between two persons. Niebuhr. Software engineering and social design. Perhaps this is the last chapter? Broken systems: we work at the action / energy / work / financial level. We have to implement the conservation of value, measured in money, to the conservation of energy. We then identify cash with kinetic energy and debt with potential energy, and explain the idea that conservation of energy / value occurs because the universe is pure act, ie entelecheia, ie something done and stored in memory. Bricks are a form of memory whose meaning is encoded in each of their positions in the structure. A motor vehicle is the embodiments of an enormous quantity of detailed designs as we follow the structure down to its atomic fundamentals.

Layering of society begins with the exchange of value, physics begins with the exchange of energy, ie frequency of operation. Still do not know how mass momentum fit in. The answer lies in the interpretation of the general theory [of relativity]. What is formally conserved in this theory — the space-time interval measured by the velocity of light which reduces it to nothing, the length of the null geodesic = 0. We might say that the light-world has no size and can exist independently of space-time, ie it is prior to space-time and so like all components, can exist independently of the assembly. 5rMomentum - Wikipedia, Geodesic - Wikipedia

A society is built on all the activities of the people that constitute it, and all these actions are acts of communication.

Rules for inquiring into nature: Joseph page 83.

We are beginning to see that the world is in a bit of a mess. Some of this may be attributed to malevolent forces arising from political corruption and some to our simple ignorance. We might be forgiven because we didn't know what we were doing, but each new revelation of huma impacts on the planet must lead to changes which will be resisted by the establishment, the formal source of mass and momentum, maybe [momentum = history = form].

Love is a potential which serves to bind individuals, hate breaks binds. The transformation from gravitation (always attractive) to electromagnetism (attraction and repulsion) is a bifurcation of love. What is the algorithm that carries us from gravitation to electromagnetism? [is there one>?].

God bless America (= action x) = will happen if x is consistent with God.

So I want to be like [Humpty Dumpty in] Alice in Wonderland and will make God mean whatever I want it to mean [closest equivalent Indigenous Australian Land]. On the one hand this is a wilful act, an the other it is a political act putting pressure on people to reconsider their ideas of the meaning of the word, rescuing the world from institutional slavery. He regards the American Constitution with extreme reverence. He has accepted his exile as the price of what he, and others, see as principled action. His technical knowledge afforded him insights into how the power between the state and the citizen was being transformed, perhaps irrevocably.' back
Avi Shlaim, Believe it or not, Barack Obama had Israel's best interests at heart, 'The Obama administration allowed the resolution to be adopted because by their lights it was not anti-Israeli but, on the contrary, essential for preserving Israel as a Jewish and democratic country. For them this was a last-ditch attempt to arrest Israel’s slide towards apartheid and to preserve the possibility of a peaceful solution. In this respect the resolution was entirely consistent with US policy since 1967 in viewing Israeli settlements on occupied land as illegal and as an obstacle to peace.' back

He analysed the output we might have enjoyed if the western world’s financial system had not locked up and the world had carried on growing at its previous rate. Benjamin Haas, On Nato, Domasl Trump needs a hostory lesson , 'In case Trump needs a history lesson, the North Atlantic Treaty, signed in 1949, including article five, provides that Nato countries will collectively defend each other in the event of armed attack on any member. Through the Cold War, Article 5 never had to be invoked, which is a testament to the organization’s deterrent effect on adversaries. But following the 9/11 attacks on the United States conducted by al-Qaida – who had been harbored by the Taliban in Afghanistan – Nato invoked Article 5 for the first time ever, specifically to deal with terrorism.' back

E. J. Dionne Jr, This is the most ominous Inauguration Day in modern history, 'Why is this inauguration different from any other? Let’s start with the fact that most Americans are not happy that Donald Trump is about to become president. The Post/ABC News poll this week found that Trump enters the Oval Office with the lowest favorable ratings since the question has been asked. Only 40 percent view Trump favorably. That compares with 62 percent for George W. Bush as he entered office in 2001 and 79 percent for Barack Obama in 2009.' back
Ebony Bennett, Turnbull government has a silver foot in its mouth, 'The travel rorts scandals make the Turnbull government look like it's out of touch, but its plans to give $50 billion in company tax cuts over the next 10 years are about to prove it beyond doubt. This time last year Prime Minister Turnbull was fumbling the national tax reform debate. Now he's going to have the unenviable task of selling the public on company tax cuts straight after an entitlements scandal.' back
Ejdionne Jr., Joy-Ann Reid, Obama, the orator, 'Like his theological hero, Reinhold Niebuhr, Obama understood human frailty — “original sin” in Niebuhr’s terms — and also the human capacity for transcendence. Obama calculated the frailty into all of his endeavors, political and rhetorical. He was, like Niebuhr, resolutely a realist. Yet he kept placing those bets on hope. “Yes we can” was a clever political slogan, but it went to the heart of the case he would make again and again, right down to the final lines of his farewell address last week. Geodesic - Wikipedia, Geodesic - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, 'In mathematics, particularly differential geometry, a geodesic . . . is a generalization of the notion of a "straight line" to "curved spaces". In the presence of a Riemannian metric, geodesics are defined to be (locally) the shortest path between points in the space. In the presence of an affine connection, geodesics are defined to be curves whose tangent vectors remain parallel if they are transported along it. The term "geodesic" comes from geodesy, the science of measuring the size and shape of Earth; in the original sense, a geodesic was the shortest route between two points on the Earth's surface, namely, a segment of a great circle. . . . Geodesics are of particular importance in general relativity, as they describe the motion of inertial test particles.' back
Giles Fraser, For Donald Trump, faith has become the perfectalibi for greed, 'For his inauguration, Trump has chosen two proponents of what is called the prosperity gospel to say the prayers. . . . Detroit bishop Wayne T Jackson, who holds that “Donald Trump is an example of someone who has been blessed by God. Look at his homes, businesses, his wife and his jet. You don’t get those things unless you have the favour of God.” Being “blessed” has become a moral alibi for America’s greed. Lenore Taylor, Crying 'fake news' is handy for politicians but toxic for democracy, 'But fake news is not any opinion with which a politician or publication disagrees, or any article that presents information they don’t like or that emphasises one part of a report when a minister would prefer to concentrate on another.
