Excerpt from Notes, 20 March 2022

One can fourier transform from a string of symbols into a file of frequencies and phases that carries the same information. In this way one packages a whole musical concert in the frequency / phase domain.

The key to the computational power of quantum mechanics is the continuous deterministic transformation created by a unitary operator which is understood to operate on the state function in an entropy preserving and reversible manner. By a suitable choice of operators one can maintain the integrity of a multidimensional piece of Hilbert space into any other orthogonal basis. This we might see as a permutation of the order of execution of the operators we are applying to the state function : we are looking at something here as the computer network operating inside a Lie group, logically continuous rather than point set continuous. We may look upon this process as a sequence of superpositions whose complex expression is a countably infinite permutation group of coupled processes. It all comes down to the codec, and here we can deal with gravitation as the "null" codec.

The target today, as it has been for the last two months, is to complete cc04_self_aware. This has been a long struggle but it has finally led me to a fundamental concept of cognitive cosmology, that the universe is aware of itself and this awareness is the foundation of emergent creation just as my self awareness is the source of my personal development from embryo to old man. It has taken me a long and complex life to to each this position but the idea seems good, that the universe had the seeds of its development in the initial singularity. In the old theology the initial singularity is god and the seeds of the universe are god's ideas. We cannot comprehend a god of absolute simplicity containing ideas which require differentiation and information, so the only other logical conclusion is that nothing, the active initial singularity, contains all possibility and is driven by the active potential of this possibility to create itself.

Now to god's ideas. We are all god's ideas and part of the creative process – the world that we make.

There is stress between hope and achievement. I have a desire to revolutionize theology but progress is slow to non-existent and each time I face the construction of a new web page for cognitive cosmology I feel the difficulty of expressing my feeling in words that might make sense to a critical reader The process seems to be similar to sculpture, seek a rough form and after a few wounds of trial and error to get it close to right, begin fine tuning and connecting it to reference material to create an attractive product worthy of marketing.

My problem is that I never finish anything. I work on a project until its problems begin to show and I see that I have to go back to the beginning and fix them and so start a new project leaving the old one hanging. As I get older, however, I have to finish something before I lose my mind and cognitive cosmology is my latest hope and I am trying to devote all my energy to it.

One guesses that about half the human population of the world are under stress, in some cases extreme, caused by war, famine and natural disaster. For those of us living in clover, this is distressing. For me, particularly now, I have not heard from my friends in Ukraine in weeks and there is no way to find out what has happened to them or to help them except to contribute financially and politically to Ukrainian resistance to the Russian invasion.

Statements by the president of Russia and his Orthodox Christian mentors suggest that this, like other wars, is fundamentally theological and religious, fuelled by the ancient unscientific theological beliefs of the past. My hope is to contribute my mite to theological reform based on the notion that we can recreate ancient dreams of paradise if we all cooperate in a reality based way. This dream is, unfortunately, fighting against the legacy of history which leaves us with established powers with strong financial, political and ideological attachments to the benefits they receive from the status quo

An old thought: Motion becomes necessary to avoid [pain and] contradiction. Action acts because it is inconsistent for it not to act.

Nietzsche (2003), Friedrich, Beyond Good and Evil, Penguin Classics 2003 ' Beyond Good and Evil confirmed Nietzsche's position as the towering European philosopher of his age. The work dramatically rejects the traditional of Western thought with its notions of truth and God, good and evil. Nietzsche seeks to demonstrate that the Christian world is steeped in a false piety and infected with a 'slave morality'. With wit and energy, he turns from this critique to a philosophy that celebrates the present and demands that the individual impose their own 'will to power' upon the world.'

Aruna Chandrasekha et al, Carbon Brief: The IPCC’s sixth assessment on how to tackle climate change, ' Limiting global warming to 1.5C or 2C would mean “rapid and deep” emissions reductions in “all sectors” of the global economy, says the latest report from the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Instead, emissions have continued to rise – albeit at a slowing rate – and it will be “impossible” to stay below 1.5C with “no or limited overshoot” without stronger climate action this decade, says the new document, which forms part of the IPCC’s sixth assessment report (AR6).' back

Associated Press, Ukraine war: Zelensky says railway station strike was war crime by Russia; EU ponders inclusion of Ukraine , ' Zelensky reiterated calls for a full energy embargo on Moscow and for Russian banks to be fully excluded from international finance. Energy exports make up the lion’s share of Russia’s profits and make Moscow’s leadership believe the world will ignore the “war crimes” of Russia’s military, Zelensky said. . . . The EU currently spends an estimated 15 million euros a day on coal, about 400 million on gas and 450 million on oil from Russia, according to the Brussels-based think tank Bruegel.' back

Brigid Magner, Witchcraft and fascism collide in Jane Rawson’s imaginative new novel , ' A German Club in Adelaide celebrated Hitler’s 50th birthday in 1939 and support continued throughout the war, with multiple parties held for Hitler’s birthday in 1945, just weeks before the Nazi defeat. A History of Dreams was inspired to some extent by Nazi enclaves in South Australia, but as Rawson has said “it’s also really about here and now”. It is a surprising, uncategorisable book: part historical novel, part speculative fiction.' back

Hanna Duggal, Infographic: 30 years since the Bosnian War, ' April 6 marks 30 years since the start of the Bosnian War, an international armed conflict that lasted from 1992 to 1995 and saw the ethnic cleansing of Bosniaks. According to an analysis by the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY), more than 100,000 people were killed during the Bosnian War, and at least 70 percent of them were Bosniaks. Following Bosnia’s recognition as an independent state in 1992, Bosnian Serbs backed by Serbia’s president, Slobodan Milosevic, began a campaign to ethnically cleanse the Bosnian territory. More than two million people became refugees during the conflict, according to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights (UNHCR).' back

Hilbert space - Wikipedia, Hilbert space - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, ' The mathematical concept of a Hilbert space, named after David Hilbert, generalizes the notion of Euclidean space. It extends the methods of vector algebra and calculus from the two-dimensional Euclidean plane and three-dimensional space to spaces with any finite or infinite number of dimensions. A Hilbert space is a vector space equipped with an inner product, an operation that allows defining lengths and angles. Furthermore, Hilbert spaces are complete, which means that there are enough limits in the space to allow the techniques of calculus to be used.' back

Jeffrey Nicholls (2022g), cognitive cosmology > page 7: Networks, brains and intelligence, ' We pride ourselves that we are much more intelligent and resourceful than all the other forms of life on Earth. We have ample evidence to prove it in our technology . We can also se the enormous damage we have done to our planetary habitat by diverting a large proportion of it resources to ourselves and returning the remains of these resources back to the planet as all sorts of pollution.' back

Minkowski space - Wikipedia, Minkowski space - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, ' In mathematical physics, Minkowski space or Minkowski spacetime is a combination of Euclidean space and time into a four-dimensional manifold where the spacetime interval between any two events is independent of the inertial frame of reference in which they are recorded. Although initially developed by mathematician Hermann Minkowski for Maxwell's equations of electromagnetism, the mathematical structure of Minkowski spacetime was shown to be an immediate consequence of the postulates of special relativity.' back

Ofer Aderet, Israel's Mossad Can't Find Docs on 1982 Lebanon Massacre, Lawyer Tells Court, ' A lawyer for the Mossad told the High Court of Justice on Monday that the agency is having difficulty locating historic documents in its archives relating to ties between the agency and Lebanese Christian militias that carried out massacres at two Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon in 1982. The lawyer for the intelligence agency, Omri Epstein, made the claim at a hearing on a petition filed by dozens of human rights advocates who have been seeking the disclosure of documents demonstrating Mossad’s links in the 1970s and 1980s to Lebanese Christian militias that committed the massacres at the Sabra and Chatila camps.' back

The Greens South Australia, Barbara Pocock, ' Hi, I’m Barbara. I'm running for the Senate because, like most Australians, I want to see real action on the climate crisis. I’m an economist and Emeritus Professor. I grew up on a mallee farm near Lameroo and have worked in universities, shearing sheds, the Reserve Bank, on farms, in unions, for the government and as a mother and carer. I've spent my life fighting for the rights of women. As an Emeritus Professor at UniSA, I led a team of researchers studying how work affects women, men, children and the households and communities in which we live.' back
