In a salt pan surrounded by hills (Nevada) with family ... testing drag racing cars. Buildings around on hill sides. Went up for a walk to large restaurant. Two dining rooms. We (scruffy) in one, gentry on another. Roast beef. We did not get very good service and I getting things from the next room. Long tables, silverware. Vaguely monastic. Perhaps something to do with Le Carre A Small Town in Germany, just completed. le Carre. More details forgotten. Should have written this first thing this morning.
