In a body, the economic problems are normally completely solved. Every cell gets what it needs and has its wastes removed. The world organism of humans has not reached this point yet.

One must define the properties and prerequisites of a civilized planetary system.

The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Human Mind Jaynes: Human race split into to psychological species by the Atlantis explosion. The conscious drove the unconscious out . . . Only in the last few hundred years have the conscious pursued the unconscious and forced them to consciousness. The unconscious live in harmony with nature. The conscious do not, but tread a dangerous path into the unknown which has much potential for creating fatal instabilities in the planetary system. . . .

One thing which becomes obvious is that science is

only possible in a conscious species, and the first and most important task of science is to understand consciousness, and to this task is given the general title metaphysics subdivided into epistemology, ontology etc. Lonergan's Insight attacks this problem. Lonergan. . . .
