The essence of scientific method is that security arises from checking every possibility either through a probability theory or inspecting the models or inspecting the real thing eg wheelnuts.
The religious conflict between God and mammon is echoed at every peer level in the fight between energy and complexity, ie serial and parallel.
The first thing we need for a model. A space is a labelled set of points, the pieces (or elements) that are used to construct and operate the model. We start with the natural numbers (including zero) 0, 1, 2, 3 ...n, n+1, ...
We can look at these numbers in two ways as cardinal numbers or ordinal numbers. These two viewpoints are defined by set theory. A set is a collection of objects with a name. Thing of it as a container with identifying information encoded on its outer surface.

We begin with the empty set, the container ready to be packed. Although empty, the empty set is an object, a unity. So put an empty set inside an empty set and you have a set with one object in it. The cardinal number of a set it simply the number of objects in it, 0, 1, 2 ... n, n+1, ...

Religion = encounter with god, that is with the human mind network, the human mindspace, IE human noosphere.
so aleph(n+1) is the god of aleph(n).
The very fact that we can distinguish +Xian theology from Muslim, Hindu etc etc attests to the primitive state of theology. It is as if (in the days of the old USSR) we had normal biology and Lysenkoist biology - we live in one world, so the science of the world must be one.

Our faith must have credibility, security, quality. This means that its doctrines should be verified by through and careful research to discover errors and loopholes. My picture is best illustrated by that immortal scene in the Holy Grail when the brave knights investing a castle construct a Trojan rabbit, but while watching the defenders fall for their trick and haul the rabbit in, they realize that they have overlooked

a detail. They are not in the rabbit.
There are mistakes, oversights and blunders in human affairs. The basic source is the sheer complexity of living systems and the products of life. Of this we have little control. But we can control our methods of avoiding pitfalls. As we do this we are rewarded with a wonderful by product - knowledge of the world.
Method is corrupted by politics*. Reports are suppressed, due process is circumvented, in a word, the system is corrupted, and errors, perhaps fatal, begin to become more probable.
FAITH & BUILDING = Quality control.

tasks must expect an appropriate degree of public scrutiny, and we are all doing public tasks. This requires a culture of openness, rather than secrecy, where all workers throw open their workshops so that all may see where the quality comes from, knowing that they will be protected from being ripped off by the right to exploit their own intellectual property.
The fear is that like ? will steal everybody's intellectual property. There is no way to stop this except by morality.

Hardware connects software to the engine of the world. Once an electric potential has set those crystals singing, a universal computer can deal with any coherent software.

Reading Aldous Huxley inclines to despair of ever being able to find adequate expression for my feeling - press on with the transfinite network. By filling out the framework I have constructed I will see how the details fit in and how the story is to be articulated.
It all comes down to maximizing bandwidth by a) increasing physical power (consumption) b) by improving coding (investment)
