Barbara Pocock apply by Thursday 19 June 2025 Ethical jobs. Do I want a job? Apply and see what happens, concentrate on my literary meditations on the role of green politics on promoting humanity.

Now back to the photon’s phase and energy. In the beginning random phase determined by random Hilbert bases [phases, random starting points since no time and frequency in Hilbert space?]

Then we say that electron positron pairs are created by zero sum bifurcation from high energy photons (energized by gravitation) of opposite phase. What makes this happen? On our story we need new hermitian operators to do the work. But insofar as photons, electrons and energy are all features of [Minkowski] space we are back in the chicken and eggs. How is the mass of the electron decided. Back to Qiu-Hong Hu. Somehow there must be a satisfactory permutation of these elements. Gravitation and hermitian operators, n operators in nD spaces. Qiu-Hong Hu (2005_12_29): The nature of the electron

[page 203]

Each species of elementary particles corresponds to one of the 61 [specific sets of] dimensions of Hilbert space, the first of which is the photon, maybe the qubit and the electron = qubit (spin direction) + qubit (charge direction) + ?

Hold on to the heuristic of simplicity.

So what’s behind Shannon’s Ansatz that small change for long time gets certainty = Δx.Δt? Small x, long t?

Is my reluctance to promote myself laziness or wisdom? I am living a unearned fairytale, exploring the possibility of heaven on earth by making the world divine and somehow hoping the idea will catch on (go viral!) with no effort from me other than writing about it. At present my mind is in the dead of winter, bogged on physical theology and lust-for-life, hoping that something big and interesting will strike my hook, so go ahead with the Pocock application, on the whole trying to understand the relationship between quantum mechanics and gravitation which creates fermions, bosons and spacetime. An irresistible outcome which needs a practical concrete mechanism to make it work to satisfy the de Broglie 13 points criterion. M. L. de Broglie: 13 Remarques sur divers sujets de Physique Theorique

[remember there are n discrete hermitian operators in an n dimensional Hilbert space. In addition to this, if the qubit and its analogues are made continuous by the equation |Ψ⟩ = a|0⟩ + b|1⟩ is reduced to |0⟩ or |⟩ with distribution (a/b)2 which is messy compared to a process in Minkowski space where we can deterministically select either to |0⟩ or |1⟩. |Ψ⟩ = a|0⟩ + b|1⟩ is like an untuned orchestra reduced by quantum mechanics so all instruments are tuned to either |0⟩ or |1⟩. The continuity induced by the coefficients a and b may enable an operator in the space to discover the points of hermiticity, ie the basis states].

The practical picture is the Minkowski space accommodates fermions and bosons. Does it cause them or do they cause it. The answer, we feel, lies in the creative ability of quantum mechanics,

[page 204]

treating the construction of Hilbert space like random genetics. Evolution by natural selection becomes possible when the duality of genetics was discovered, a new duality in physiology represented by my principle 4: each step in evolution requires a dynamic base with a kinematic variation. I got it right then and now must remind myself and move on: put the principles at the beginning of lust-for-life rather than at the end of cognitive cosmogenesis - the inexpensive random cogitations of mind [continuum quantum evolution] are the key to the way forward and the foundation is structureless gravitation. So principles 4 and 5 are important, but we need a reordering of the principles to form a skeleton for physical theology.

The heart of the matter is the relationship between Hilbert and Minkowski space made possible by the logic of quantum mechanics as the logical search for stability in the chaos of uncontrolled variation by the fact of selection, implemented in biology by the ability to both vary and reproduce made possible by the new degree of freedom introduced by genetic duality in living creatures. Long ago, this was the powerful thought in the rearrangement of Hilbert and Minkowski space.

[Here we see the impossibility of Lamarkian evolution since if the whole organism was changed by its life experience, it may lose the ability to reproduce through the changes arising from experience and so be unable to pass the beneficial change on to its children].

Another go at the Atlantic:’Mosaic theology and genocide’.

By putting Hilbert space on top of Minkowski space it seems easy to use processes like the Schrödinger equation to compute the space-time trajectories of things like the electrons in an atom and add a new substrate of field equations to account for the relativistic and other features of this space-time disposition like the Lamb shift. How does this work out in our new regime where spacetime and the particles in it are pure quantum mechanical creations? How do we write Brandt and Dahmen’s picture book of quantum mechanics? Sleep on it.

Spacetime is not a container of fields other than the particles like Wilczek’s “grid” [Wilczek’s term for the vacuum that theoretically seethes with quantum activity]. Spacetime is created by the particles’ interactions with one another, starting with gravitation at the longest spacetime scale and working down to the interior of the proton.

[page 207]

It is pretty safe to say that the field theorists have got everything backwards. The only field is gravitation and it is, in ancient terms, pure spirit with no mass, [no energy] no structure, no spacetime, it is the initial singularity potentially everything by the zero sum bifurcation into potential and kinetic energy.

The fact is that this solo writing job is so exciting and productive, the perfect level of mental masturbation with regular orgasms, that I have no desire to be a political aide dashing around the country trying to influence people when my Einstein scheme of the total revision of physics and theology is growing vigorously and will grow now from cognitive cosmogenesis to a strong series of books, articles and websites, all of which nest in their incunabulabilical ages in these notebooks, finally coming out strong enough to be published.

I write science fiction, aka science hypothesis, and test it as well as I can to see how it fits what I see, smell, touch, taste and feel [my only choice now is to have faith in myself as an observable and conscious particle in the universe].

What is spin? In Minkowski space it is angular momentum, and it characterizes bosons, particles whose spin is a whole number [of quanta of angular momentum]. It is contrasted with half integral spin, characteristic of fermions.

What is the significance of an equation in physics. Perhaps I have gone too far out?

Blurb: Cognitive cosmogenesis is a work of science fiction. If it has a possible future we would call it a hypothesis. It follows the well known dictum of Darwin and the book by Fortun and Bernstein:

In scientific investigations . . . it is permitted to invent any hypothesis, and if it explains various large and independent classes of facts, it rises to the rank of a well grounded theory. Charles Darwin (1875): The Variation of Animals and Plants Under Domestication, Fortun & Bernstein (1998): Muddling Through: Pursuing Science and Truths in the Twenty-First Century

I will remain a bit depressed until I get an insight that enables me to take a step forward in the tale of fermions, bosons and the origin of Minkowski space. This came to a standstill on 31 May and now it is 10th June.

How do we relate Hu’s model of the electron in 4D spacetime as a Hubius Helix to the operation of mapping a Hilbert space onto itself? Going back a step, how do we do this for a photon? Qiu-Hong Hu (2005_12_29): The nature of the electron

So back to physical theology and the descriptions of the photon and the electron as we know them in Minkowski space coupled with speculation as to how they arise from quantum mechanics and gravitation and then we go into the critical question of whether fermions and bosons are the source of Minkowski space

[page 209]

Did §boson today; §15 electron tomorrow, then §16 Minkowski; §17 Einstein,\; §18 atom; §19 molecule; §20 end of field theory and imperialism; birth of particuate independence., Hoping to see all these poetic ideas to reality, modelling the world as I want to model umanity -Continuing The Political Consequences of Physical Theology =Lust-for=life.

The ten day hiatus from 31/5 to 10/6 has done a lot toward volume 2 of the Cognitive story, it is beginning to take shape.

My lust for life is the universe’s lust for life.

The big problem is massive particles - something is going on inside, eg hadrons.

Wednesday 11 June 2025

§ electron: a page for lust-for-life Chapter 1: The Divine World. Massive; so there is a process inside. Why spin ½? Since nothing can be done by a half quantum, it must be oriented so a full quantum can turn it over? This is in Minkowski space. Back to Qui-Hong Hu The Nature of the Electron. A structure into which all the attributes of elecron can be fitted self-consistently

[page 210]

Photon is EM field vibrating according to QM rule E = ℏ&omega. In the quantum picture there is no mention of electricity and magnetism. Is there Minkowski space inside an electron? ie is the electron a bounded structure in Minkowski space, something like a proton with quarks and gluons inside moving according to a ‘field’ in Minkowski space established by the”nature” of quarks and gluons. It is interesting to feel how difficult it is to get one’s head around these ideas, reminiscent of Einstein’s statement that it took 10 years to get his head clear of old ideas of spacetime. We have said before that there is arithmetic in a bag of beans, ie arithmetic is represented by physical objets mapped by set theory.

All the features that are added to kinematic entities in their conversion from formalism to reality are built on energy which is the rate of action which is equivalent (in Minkowski space) to ℏω, where ℏ is a unit of angular momentum.

We must understand electricity in terms of the zero sum bifurcation of neutrality into positive and negative charge which are precisely equal, carried in the main by electrons and protons. We may also imagine the zero sum “trifurcation” of colour charge into RGB = white.

I want my renovation of physics and theology to be at least as exciting

as Talking Heads show played at my 2BOB show [the killer move so far is the identification of God and gravitation]. [Have just renewed domain gravitation-is-divine].

Did a positron become a proton? What’s in a proton? Anything like what’s in an electron? How would Hilbert change a positron to a proton?

Rotating the mind / rotating Hilbert space.

Blurb: Science begins with science fiction, or, as some like to call it, hypothesis or supposition.

If my understanding of how quantum mechanics works to explain the world is right I should be able to explain how the world works at its simple beginning. All the physicists do is measure what actually happens but they do not necessarily understand how. Mathematics is embodied in the world by how it actually works, not by calculation [nevertheless the numbers we measure and the numbers we calculate seem to be quite random, often not connected by simple functions but as sums of infinite series like Feynman diagrams; these may be random superpositions of simple relationships].

So the question becomes: how big a Hilbert space do we need and what basis states must it have in order to contain a vector which energized by gravitation yields an electron, in other words, how many nodes (basis states) are needed to construct an electron, or in other words what is the coded message constructed in Hilbert space that encodes the form of an electron, like the form of an electric motor which sits static until it is turned on by connecting it to an electric potential. This motor could be represented by a series of drawings which specify the materials and tolerances for each point, ie x gauge insulated copper wire. The basis states could be the materials from which the

[page 212]

motor is made. The basis states of an electron may be photons. The basis states of the elementary particles may be one anotHer, ie they form a group.

Sometimes I wish I was doing something else but this project seems to be my impossible dream and I know that I will go on with it, building on my book. I look at all these fancy people and think my life is better than that but it is not easy because the outcome is still hidden in the future and every day repeats Einstein’s dictum: ‘the most incomprehensible thing about the universe is that it is comprehensible’. This is guaranteed by evolution and the principle that the variation of evolution needs a stable base, in my book divine gravitation: Chapter 28: Principles embedded in this site: Principle 4: Each step in evolution requires a dynamic base with kinematic variation.

My Hilbert Oscillator: ‘The years of searching in the dark for a truth that one feels but cannot express, the intense desire and the alternations of confidence and misgiving, until one breaks through into clarity and understanding are known only to those who have experienced them.’ Which is probably pretty much everybody who has had [a problem] and an insight. Explain the power of quantum mechanics in terms of vectors and hermitian operators. Reread Feynman on ammonia master. Feynman, Leighton & Sands FLP III:09: Chapter 9: The Ammonia Maser

Friday 13 June 2025

We identify the size of Hilbert space necessary to create a particle by computing the entropy of the particle (from photon to planet) by the number of fixed points which it contains. So, let us say, that a photon has two fixed points in its phase measured by +h and -h. So what about a proton or a general hadron specified by Wilczek’s equation? Frank Wilczek (2008): The Lightness of Being: Mass, Ether, and the Unification of Forces, page 52

I have to stick to things that I know, and my best bet here seems to be to use entropy and the principle of requisite variety to couple the properties of elementary particles to quantum mechanics in Hilbert space.

So we think of all particles and all quanta of action as models of the Universe beginning with the initial singularity and gradually complexifying so complex particles are made of simpler particles, a bit like lego.

Time is the measure of life, numerus motus secundum prius et posterius = U is the time operator.

A kinematic object like a puppet is static within itself and only moves when moved by some dynamic element outside itself. It is like a rigid bone moved by a flexible muscle. So quantum mechanics is a theory of bones moved by gravitational muscles, ie kinetic and potential.

What is stopping physical_theology_May2025. It is in a way the predecessor to my next book but the task of redirecting theology and religion still seems hopeless because the worse the world gets the more attractive the apocalyptic dreams of redemption and heavenly bliss offered by the Mosaic (Abrahamic) religions (which include Islam) seem to become. Abrahamic religions - Wikipedia

This job has to be done, however, and the key physical fact is slowly becoming the sensible divinity of gravitation. I tried to renew gravitation-is-divine (which is not a very attractive domain name [but the literal truth]) and accidentally wasted $160 0n some sort of protection racket from Bluehost which I hope to recover. From a Keynes point of iew I have to live up to my animal spirits, which have been a bit sluggish due to toothache and numb jaw, perhaps radiation [therapy] induced.

Basically my task is to replace ancient mythology with scientifically verified truth. Much of this mythology is supported by the world’s major religions and embedded in the political structures of many [almost all? (in god we trust)] nations. One can see in modern Russia the enormous resilience of propaganda in the current rehabilitation of Joseph Stalin by the Putin regime. Rustam Alexander (2025_06_10): The tributes of half-men: Why is Joseph Stalin’s blood-soaked reputation being so thoroughly restored in today’s Russia?

[page 216]

How do we convert a song encoded as a vector in Hilbert space into a particle, say a proton whose entropy is about 10K? Since. Hilbert space exists before space and time and is therefore a static force, a script, sheet music, something like computer code, a self referential string of instruction with calls, do loops and the whole schemozzle. So can we encode a proton in Python [software that mimics the inputs and outputs of a proton?] Time to buy a modern computer. Isn’t it time we danced the night away.

Since my birth I feel that I have been bashing my head against impossible problems but my apotheosis has come with Cognitive Cosmogenesis: a systematic integration of physics and the0logy [which may not be correct , but it is an hypothesis].

I have discovered divinity at last and their name is gravitation, and we go from there to quantum mechanics, bosons and fermions, Minkowski space and general relativity - a Universe built from very simple ideas, all based on the unlimited power of evolution, first in the Platonic world of quantum mechanics and then in the atomic and molecular world of chemical life. Is this right? The heuristic of simplicity is my proof. If evolution can design a rabbit, it can design a proton, and the Beach Boys, like all the old bands inspired by nuclear weapons. I have reached my 80s and I know the way forward.

Thermonuclear energy is bullshit and quantum field theory is the

[page 217]

problem.

The basis states of music are notes, which may be enormously complex waveforms as long as they are orthogonal.

Quantum mechanics is the bones of gravitation installed by the intellectual Aristotelian unmoved mover as the Platonic forms which derive energy from gravitation to become real particles. Michael Bordt (2011): Why Aristotle's God is not the Unmoved Mover

We see this as a series of zero-sum bifurcations: 1 Gravitation gets bones [from fixed point theory] which are random; 2. Quantum mechanics separates out the [readily reproducible, common] fixed points, fermions and bosons; 3. These fixed points are energized by gravitation to become real particles, such that all elementary particles are either fermions or bosons; 4. The interactions of these particles create Minkowski space; 5. Minkowski spaces bond according to tensor calculus to create general relativity; So we have two major epochs of evolution: quantum mechanical and particle / atomic / molecular life.

These words are not often associated with the science, which for most people still connote exactitude, elegance, reliability and a rather plodding certainty. But the real story is something quite different. The sciences are less about the ability to know and to control than they are about the unleashing of new forces, new capacities for changing the world. The sciences as practised exist not in some pristine world of "objectivity," but in what Mike Fortnum and Herbert Bernstein call "the Muddled Middle". This book explores the way science makes sense of the world and how the world makes sense of science. It is also about politics and culture—how these forces shape the sciences and are shaped by them in return.'

A corecipient of the 2004 Nobel Prize in Physics, Wilczek knows what he’s writing about; the question is, will general science readers? Happily, they know what the strong interaction is (the forces that bind the nucleus), and in Wilczek, they have a jovial guide who adheres to trade publishing’s belief that a successful physics title will not include too many equations. Despite this injunction (against which he lightly protests), Wilczek delivers an approachable verbal picture of what quarks and gluons are doing inside a proton that gives rise to mass and, hence, gravity. Casting the light-speed lives of quarks against “the Grid,” Wilczek’s term for the vacuum that theoretically seethes with quantum activity, Wilczek exudes a contagious excitement for discovery. Gediminas Lipnickas (2023_06_11), The AI hype is just like the blockchain frenzy – here’s what happens when the hype dies, ' In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has taken centre stage across various industries. From AI-generated art to chatbots in customer service, every sector is seemingly poised for disruption. It’s not just in your news feed every day – venture capital is pouring in, while CEOs are eager to declare their companies “AI-first”. But for those who remember the lofty promises of other technologies that have since faded from memory, there’s an uncanny sense of déjà vu. In 2017, it was blockchain that promised to transform every industry. Companies added “blockchain” to their name and watched stock prices skyrocket, regardless of whether the technology was actually used, or how. Now, a similar trend is emerging with AI. What’s unfolding is not just a wave of innovation, but a textbook example of a tech hype cycle. We’ve been here many times before. [. . .] Recognising the signs of this cycle is crucial. It helps in distinguishing between genuine technological shifts and passing fads driven by speculative investment and good marketing. It can also mean the difference between making a good business decision and a very costly mistake. Meta, for example, invested more than US$40 billion into the metaverse idea while seemingly chasing their own manufactured tech hype, only to abandon it later. [. . .] In the end, about 90% of enterprise blockchain solutions failed by mid-2019. [. . .] Long-term success comes from thoughtful experimentation, implementation, and clear purpose, not from chasing trends or short-term gains. John Buchanan (2025_06_03), Australia’s lowest paid workers just got a 3.5% wage increase. Their next boost could be even better, ' It is always a judgement call as to what is the appropriate scale of any wage increase. Given low paid workers were not the source of recent inflationary pressure, it is reasonable to claim now is the time to reverse the recent trends of cutting their real wages. Whether the increase had to be so modest is something the commission has indicated it is open to considering in future hearings. It has sent this signal by floating two novel arguments. The first argument concerns how cuts in real pay are calculated. In its decision it makes the very important point that conventional measures of real wage movements use monthly measures of inflation but wages only increase annually. It’s on this basis the 4.5% cut for the benchmark entry level trade worker in manufacturing was calculated. The commission notes, however, that if you take into account wages only rise once a year and inflation rises continuously, the overall loss of earnings power for such workers has been 14.4% since July 2021. This is a much higher account of real wage cuts than has previously informed debates on wages policy. Secondly, the commission has noted consideration should be given to phasing out some of the lowest classifications in the award system. This is something it has done in the past. In this way it does not have to “increase rates” for low paid classifications as such. Rather, it just eliminates the possibility of having rates for exceptionally low paid jobs – and so raises the base rates dramatically for the lowest paid workers.' back

Michael Bordt (2011), Why Aristotle's God is not the Unmoved Mover, ' The aim of this essay is to show that the view—popular among certain philosophers and theologians—that Aristotle’s God is the unmoved mover is incorrect, or at least leads to serious misunderstanding. In a nutshell: among other things, the project of the twelfth book of the Metaphysics is to determine what the first ousia is. This first ousia is not identified with God in so far as it is an unmoved mover, but in so far as it is the actual activity (energeia) of thinking. To put matters differently, the actual activity of the first ousia does not consist in moving anything. Its activity rather consists in the exercise of reason, in thinking. Since, however, thinking is without qualification the best activity, and since God is that being who just does engage in the best activity, the first ousia, in so far as it is the same as the activity of thinking, must be God. Thus we perhaps expect that, at the summit of ontology, God himself will be the object of this first philosophy. Metaphysics Λ meets such an expectation only in a very limited way. The limitation is the following: that which, so to speak, stands at the summit of metaphysics is not God, but the activity of reason. While this activity is identified with God, it is not so identified directly or immediately, but only as mediated by way of the conception of the best possible life. The twelfth book of the Metaphysics thus provides to an even lesser extent than is usually assumed the outlines of a theology. By way of recompense, however, Aristotle offers us a truly breathtaking metaphysics.' back

Qiu-Hong Hu (2005_12_29), The nature of the electron, ' Through investigating history, evolution of the concept, and development in the theories of electrons, I am convinced that what was missing in our understanding of the electron is a structure, into which all attributes of the electron could be incorporated in a self-consistent way. It is hereby postulated that the topological structure of the electron is a closed two-turn Helix (a so-called Hubius Helix) that is generated by circulatory motion of a mass-less particle at the speed of light. A formulation is presented to describe an isolated electron at rest and at high speed. It is shown that the formulation is capable of incorporating most (if not all) attributes of the electron, including spin, magnetic moment, fine structure constant, anomalous magnetic moment, and charge quantization into one concrete description of the Hubius Helix. The equations for the description emerge accordingly. Implications elicited by the postulate are elaborated. Inadequacy of the formulation is discussed.' back

Rustam Alexander (2025_06_10), The tributes of half-men: Why is Joseph Stalin’s blood-soaked reputation being so thoroughly restored in today’s Russia?, ' Why is the former Soviet dictator enjoying such a wave of popularity across Russia at the moment? Is it true, as one legislator declared at the grand opening of a Stalin Centre in the southern Siberian city of Barnaul, that Stalin continues to “live” in each and every Russian? I genuinely do think that Stalin lives in the hearts of some people in Russia — their cult-like adoration for the dictator is a reflection of both the positive spin the Kremlin has put on his image in recent years, and an echo of the widespread political indoctrination much of the population underwent under his rule. [. . . ] Historical memory in Russia is now more distorted than ever. Until recently, at least, Memorial, one of the oldest human rights organisations in Russia, diligently upheld the tradition of remembering the victims of Stalin’s monstrous crimes each year, despite a rapidly shrinking official tolerance for dissent in the country. Since the organisation was forced to end its operations in Russia by the Supreme Court in 2021, however, Russia has drifted ever further towards mythologising and romanticising the darkest parts of its own recent history. It’s therefore likely we’ll see further displays of public veneration for the ghoulish dictator in the near future — after all, he continues to live in many Russians whether they like it or not.' back
